Party in a white box

Welcome to CostIncreaser.
Look at that font. It's like a penny-farthing wrote it.
Time for a change.

There's something very sad about all that faded veg. It's dead now, for one. Ah, prehistoric food photos. So overwhelmingly melancholy.

What's with the dislocated drinking crew? Are they even at the same do? Tech-Boy noticed that the lady at the front looks like she's been imported from a totally different event. Perhaps a corporate training video for Fear Inducing Staring. The floating wine glasses are having a riot though. Which is no mean feat, given everyone appears to be getting on down inside a small white box.
I had to silence the urge to draw a small mantelpiece and some Corrie-approved flying ducks behind them all with a marker pen....
Ah well, at least the pasty old fruit 'n veg seems to be having a cosy old time of it. My money's on Yellow Pepper to be first to fall asleep.

8 Bit

Wooah. These guys know how to mess with your eyes. Pixels Rule. It's like Granny's Garden just got real...

Bad? Or just really really good?

I hope Tune hotels never update their logo. It's a glorious melting pot of stickle bricks, generic calligraphy and the year 1981. There's something nostalgic and romantic about it's total crapness. I love that it discourages any notion of quality. As a professional pessimist once said to me: if you never expect anything, you'll never be disappointed. Sleep tight!

Rene Rules

I am obsessed with fashion illustrator Rene Gruau. Even his signature was cool. By the time he was 18, he was an internationally published God of illustrating in the fashion magazine world. He the did marketing images for Dior too. Lucky boy.
In my quest to become a bit more Rene, I bought a canvas and copied La Belle Et Noir (mine on the left, original on the right). My girl is sharper, more angular (I've always preferred lines and boxy shapes over curves) and slightly less sophisticated looking, but I think she has a sort of Mini Mouse chic about her. She also looks like she might mix a mean Pisco Sour. And would be less likely to tell you off if you spilt some on her expensive oriental rug...
